Publish events, sections, and hero images

Once your pages exist, three things fill them: events that change weekly, sections that structure a page, and hero images that set the tone.

Events

An event carries an Event Title, Content, an Image, and a start and end expressed as day and time (End Day, End Time).

Giving an event a genuine end matters more than it seems. An event without one becomes a stale listing that outlives the thing it advertised, and nothing makes a taproom site look abandoned faster than a trivia night that finished three months ago.

Images are cropped when you add them — Confirm Image Crop — so the shape stays consistent across listings rather than depending on whatever the camera produced.

Sections

Section titled “Sections”

Sections are the blocks a page is built from. Each carries its own Background Color and Text Color, so a page can alternate between light and dark bands rather than running as one undifferentiated column.

A Code Snippets reference is available alongside the section editor, showing the markup you can use. Note what it cannot do: saved content is sanitized to a safe allowlist, and iframe, embed, form, input, and script elements are removed. Maps, booking widgets, and third-party forms therefore cannot be embedded this way. The one supported embed is BevWerk’s own menu element — see Choose the right menu surface.

Hero images

Section titled “Hero images”

Hero images are the large visuals at the top of a page. Add them under Hero Images, with Add Image, cropping, and a Corner Radius to match the rest of your styling.

A hero is the first thing a visitor sees and often the only thing they remember, so it is worth using a photograph of your actual room rather than a stock image of somebody else’s.

Consistency comes from your brand settings

Colours here sit alongside the brand colours set in Company Info. Setting those properly first means section and hero choices are picking from a palette rather than inventing one per page — see Set company branding and tax defaults.

Where events appear

When a location has a website, Events becomes a first-class section in the app navigation. Before that, it is reachable from the settings menu — which is why the path differs depending on how far along your site is.
