Build flights guests can choose

A flight is a small menu inside your menu. Flights (/beverages/flights) lets you assemble one from beverages you already track, so a tasting lineup is not a separate list you have to remember to update.

Flights follow the same split as the rest of BevWerk:

  • Draft Flights are built from what is pouring.
  • Bottle & Can Flights are built from packaged inventory.

The split is not cosmetic. Draft availability changes when a keg blows; packaged availability changes when a case runs out. Keeping them apart means a flight stays tied to the inventory that actually governs it.

Why flights are built from inventory rather than typed out

Section titled “Why flights are built from inventory rather than typed out”

A flight typed by hand is a promise that goes stale the moment something changes. Because Create Flight draws on records you already maintain, the beverages in a flight carry the same names, styles, and producers as everywhere else in the product. When you fix a name once, you fix it everywhere it appears.

That is the same reasoning behind the catalog: describe a beverage in one place, use it in many.
